Location

The Château Saint-Martin & Spa is a five-minute drive from the centre of Vence, which has long inspired artists such as Matisse and Chagall due to its natural beauty and remarkable light.

The narrow, winding streets of this medieval city are lined with architectural landmarks that hint at its origins as the ancient Roman city of Vintium and the Seigneurey of Villeneuve. Nice is a 30-minute drive from the hotel while the beaches of the Cote d’Azur are just 15 minutes away. The Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is 25 minutes by taxi from the Château.

Restaurant / Food

Gastronomic experiences await throughout the day at the Château Saint-Martin’s restaurants, including the Michelin-star Le Saint-Martin that affords magnificent views across the Mediterranean coast. Chef Jean-Luc Lefrançois sources inspiration from local producers and his abundant kitchen gardens to craft the menu, working in partnership with gourmet Pâtissière Eve Moncorger.

An ancient olive tree creates a sun-dappled setting for dining at L’Oliveraie, which specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, while cocktails and hilltop views await at Le Rossini.

Style of Property

Lovingly restored by contemporary architect Luc Svetchine, the Château Saint-Martin & Spa has been masterfully decorated by the owner, Maja Oetker. Louis XVI-style furniture, Aubusson tapestries and 18th-century clocks adorn the interior spaces, together with exquisite rugs from Persia and Turkey.

Oakwood parquet floors and pink marble bathrooms create a warm and cosy atmosphere in the elegant rooms, with each designed to represent a journey through time.

Rooms

Each of the 52 guest rooms and suites has its own character, with refined fabrics and historic artworks complementing the light-filled spaces. Private balconies offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains or Côte d’Azur to inspire guests, just as they have countless artists before. Six sumptuous, private villas nestle in the gardens and are ideal for those wanting complete seclusion.

The Provence-style Two and Three-Bedroom Villas are ideal for families or groups of friends travelling together, with separate living spaces and an open-plan kitchen for entertaining your private chef. Babysitting and childminding services are also available for an additional charge.

The Château Saint-Martin & Spa doesn’t have any rooms designed specifically for wheelchair access or those with limited mobility.

Services available

Aside from its stunning, infinity-style swimming pool, the Château Saint-Martin features numerous terraces and shaded seating areas where you can soak up the garden and olive grove views. Discover why it was voted the “Best luxury Spa destination in Europe” at La Prairie, which offers prestigious Sisley treatments in cabins that have carved into the side of a cliff.
