Les Roches Blanches – 5* Hotel in Cassis

Characterised as a “lover’s hotel”, Les Roches Blanches is a five-star coastal getaway on the edge of Cassis. It occupies a lavish mansion that was built in 1877 and has been meticulously restored in an Art Deco style to honour its glory years. Wedged between the pastel-coloured houses of the village and the wild landscapes of the Calanques, it provides a spectacular setting for exploring the region while enjoying the finer things in life.

Les Roches Blanches
Location

Just a stone’s throw from the heart of Cassis, Les Roches Blanches boasts a waterfront setting overlooking the azure Mediterranean waters. The rocky shores of Plage du Bestouan lie immediately north while the hidden coves and pristine beaches of Parc National des Calanques sprawl to the west.

Spend your days strolling between the charming cafes and boutiques that occupy Cassis’ pastel-coloured buildings or discover the region’s renowned white wines in the surrounding vineyards. The rocky headland of Cap Canaille offers never-ending sea views while the cultural museums of Marseille are just 30 minutes away.

Restaurant / Food

Begin the day with a continental breakfast on the alfresco terrace while soaking in the Mediterranean views. Locally sourced and seasonal produce features on the menu for lunch and dinner at Les Belles Canailles, accompanied by a fine selection of Cassidian wines.

Dine on tapas and mezzes inspired by the sea at the lounge-style Les Petites Canailles or indulge with sashimi and champagne on the terrace of the Loup Bar, which seemingly hangs over the ocean.

Style of Property

Art Deco is the prevailing style throughout the rooms, suites and public spaces of Les Roches Blanches in celebration of the mansion’s 1930s soul. It combines French elegance with contemporary and vintage-style furnishings, with renowned agency Kappel the creative force behind the design.

The hotel’s spectacular natural setting is highlighted at every turn, with frequent glimpses through to the azure waters of the Mediterranean.

Rooms

Each of the rooms and suites features an en-suite bathroom with tub, a Nespresso coffee machine and an HD television, together with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and/or Cap Canaille. The Classic and Deluxe rooms are ideal for couples, with a little extra space to move in the Executive Room. Guests can relax on the private terrace of their Junior Suite, with a panoramic terrace completing the elegant Winston Suite.

Families may opt for the Canaille Suite or penthouse Edith Suite, both of which offer two distinct bedrooms for parents and children. Board games and puzzles are provided to keep young guests entertained, with babysitting and child-minding services also available for an additional charge.

Les Roches Blanches offers a small selection of accessible rooms featuring lowered bathroom sinks and grab rails for those with limited mobility.

Services available

Watch the boats coming and going in Cassis’ harbour from the black-mosaic Infinity Pool or be rejuvenated by the sound of cascading water at the hotel’s Waterfall Pool. Four treatment rooms and a hammam await at the luxurious Sisley Spa and there’s direct sea access for a saltwater swim in the Mediterranean.
